Internal Medicine For Your Pet – Corning Animal Hospital
Internal Medicine For Pets in the Corning, NY Area
The veterinarians at Corning Animal Hospital have extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of many internal health problems. We have expertise in treating too many diseases to list but some of the more common ones include kidney disease, diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, pancreatitis, Cushing’s syndrome, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, parasitic diseases, allergies, heart diseases, cancers, infections, arthritis, and autoimmune disorders.
We employ many tools to help us accurately diagnose health problems in pets. While it may not seem as exciting as using high tech gadgets, we at Corning Animal Hospital believe that the foundations of practicing good veterinary medicine still depend on listening to the observations of pet owners and performing a thorough physical examination. We then use the information we gather from the history and the physical exam to choose the appropriate diagnostic tests and to correctly interpret the results.
Since our patients cannot tell us themselves how they are feeling, we often do need to use diagnostic testing to make a correct diagnosis. Corning Animal Hospital has a complete in-house laboratory that allows us to run many routine tests in a matter of minutes. We also use an outside laboratory for less common tests and when immediate results are not necessary.
